Here is a first one, now I never go completely by recipes, this one is low fat, I will tell you my additions.this one from WW. of course with my additions but still low fat.
Cabbage soup with kielbasa
2 tsp olive oil
1 onion finely chopped
6 oz low-fat kielbasa, thinly sliced (I used hot kielbasa)
3 cloves minced garlic
8 cups water
1 bay leaf
1 tsp salt (less)
1/4 tsp dried thyme
1/4 tsp dried marjoram
1/8 tsp pepper
1 sm head cabbage shredded (shredded coarsly-'bout 8 cups)
1 lg carrot, (coarsly shredded)
1 8 oz potato (coarsly shredded)
1 tbsp cider vinegar
1. heat oil, add onion, saute until translucent. Add kielbasa and garlic, saute till fragrant about 2 minutes. Add water,(I used fat free chicken broth, box and finished with water just 'cause it tastes better), Add the herbs and pepper and bring to boil. Reduce heat and simmer partially covered about 15 minutes.
Stir in cabbage, potato, carrot and vinegar. ( I did not use but about 1/2 tsp vinegar). Reduce heat and simmer partially covered till all veggiers are tender, about 30 minutes. Discard bay leaf.
I never go by a recipe so I added tarragon and bok choi. This is delicious on a cold day, a comfort food for sure, You can so your own thing with it. Now when it was done to my bowl I added hot sauce, my favorite Busha Browne's Pukka sauce, best there is and with great flavor. I also used more herbs and less salt. Just to taste. enjoy and let your imagination run wild!!
