These little jewels are out of this world and loaded with sweet butter..........be sure and add more when you slice through them.

1 stick (1/2 cup) butter
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
4 tsp. granulated sugar
4 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. salt
1 3/4 cup buttermilk
Preheat oven to 425F degrees
(sometimes I use self rising flour and omit baking powder)
Spray an 8-inch baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.(I use cast iron)
Melt stick of butter in the pan.
In a medium bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt.
Pour in the buttermilk. Stir until a loose dough forms. Dough will be sticky.
Roll out dough on floured surface, cut and place on top of the melted butter
Then flip so both sides will be buttered.
Bake for about 20-25 minutes
